the king of the north and the king of the south.
the last time i paid attention it was russian and usa.
what do they teach now?
This is the latest position of the "Prophets of god" as found in their book "Pay Attention to Daniel's Prophecy" page281:
"Who will be this king when Dan11:44 is fulfilled? Will he be identified with one of the countries that were once part of the former Soviet Union? Or will he change his identity entirely as he has done a number of times already? Will the development of nuclear weapons by additional nations result in a new arms race and have a bearing on the identity of that king? "Only time will provide answers to these questions. We are wise not to speculate"
Strange that jehoover should leave his "prophets" out of the loop on so vital a subject as our future. In fact he DID at one time reveal who this king was, and there was NO need for his prophets to "speculate" - wisely or otherwise. In fact the prideful boast of the WTS was that "god" DID reveal his secrets to his servants the prophets, but now? They are left, not to the revelation of "god" but to time. Check the newspapers. Here is where the WTS will find this identity. They will then pompously trump up the idea that "god" revealed this to them!!!
But in that case we are all prophets of "god" since we all read the newspapers.

Thanks a lot for your well written and objective report. You did not intrude into the commentary by inserting your own conclusions, leaving us to decide this for ourselves.
Great work.

Yes.
Remember that there are two editions of the KIT. The first was published in 1969, and is now out of print. The second edition was released in 1985 and is still available, though difficult to obtain. The English text of the KIT 2 is the same as the NWT which is available on-line and on the WT CD.
The 1984/85 edition of the NWT is now the official standardized version, since with the death of Milton Henschell all the former members of the original Translation Committee of 1950 are now deceased. This naturally means that no further revisions can be made.

Sorry, MA but there seems to be a language problem. The site appears to be originally German, and the instructions are unintelligible. The pdf files for the various magazines are visible but do not appear to be downloadable. In other words you can't click 'em.
Is there some magic wand needed to untangle this?

i'm going through chemo right now , just had no.
3 of 4 treatments, i would like to talk to others who have or know someone who has.. had started to lose hair on day 15, mostly day 3,4,and 5 after treatments i ache like a bad case of flu and have to stay in bed don't even feel much like tv.
the meds keep away the neasua, very fatigued.. i know there are others that have it alot worse then me, so i'm not complaining just want to know if anyone else would like to talk about it..
As a consequence of being diagnosed with bowel cancer in 1996 aged 54, I had to undergo a six month chemotherapy session. I had to wait for 16 weeks after the operation itself when my descending colon was removed. The session ran for ten days each month, divided into two five day sessions. In the first week I had the sessions Mon-Fri when the chemical "cocktail" was injected into my arms through a vein in wrist. The second week I had off, and the third week saw a repeat performance, with the next again being free.
This carried on for six months, with two somewhat different reactions than yours. For different cancers they use different chemical combinations or "cocktails" and mine was a combination that did not cause any hair loss [not that that is of any use to me since I'm pretty bald meself] however the reactions were uncomfortable enough nonetheless. First it caused a discoloration of my skin. The left side of my face for instance got deeply tanned [that was the side I was injected - the left wrist] while my right side was not. It gave me the odd look of a person who had fallen asleep on the beach on one side. This was explained in terms of the chemical, while traveling through the very fine capillaries in the face, leaving behind this coloration. Why it only effected one side was unknown.
There was also an unbearable drying up of the skin, especially in those areas of the armpits and the crotch. I had this agonizing feeling that I was wearing underpants at least four sizes too small. Oddly enough, applying creams and lotions were no help, since the problem was internal. The solution was to have a diet that was rich in agents that provided a counterbalance to the chemicals that had effected the internal moisture sacs. Like yogurt.
The good thing about this treatment, severe as it is while it goes on, is that these reactions disappear immediately on the termination of the treatment. The hair for instance grows back the minute the chemo terminates.

i was raised as a witness and have been miserable for my entire existence.
i have hated every moment of it.
after about 10 years of struggling, i decided 2 years ago that i was done w/ the charade and wasn't going to return to the meetings.
Hi, SF and welcome to JWD. You have possibly taken, with the sole exception of a marriage vow, the most important step in your young life. It takes courage, resolution and a strong sense of awareness to make a decision such as leaving one's religion on grounds of personal conviction. There will be no going back, for what has been done will engender permanent emotional and psychological tremors in the deepest part of your psyche, which will last for as long as memory itself does. But it is for the good, for now, having discovered an awful truth about religions that promise so much but give nothing, you can benefit from an enhanced sense of maturity, that will characterize the rest of your life.
Go forward into the new dawn, for there is one waiting to unfurl, and rejoice in the unfettered freedom that life affords. You have begun to live anew, ennobled by your experiences, and your contributions to the world's stage awaits you. As does JWD. You have new friends here, raucous perhaps, but, who like you also have come to experience liberty in free expression. Here thinking is allowed, so think aloud. Not just your voice but your mind is welcome.
Be not harsh on your sister. Many cannot see the restrictive bonds that the WTS puts in place. In order for repression to succeed it must have a phalanx of deceptive order, as if marching tirelessly in step, for good or ill, is a portend of religious fellowship. Those such as she have been encouraged by the monstrous leadership of this system, to have this almost superstitious conviction that a malevolent fate, invested with divine wrath, awaits one who defects.
Rather await the day that her own eyes may be opened.
Cheers
